I thought it was high time I posted a second instalment in my adventure Tuesday series. The weather has been great since my last post; my feet have been itching to hit the trails – and any trail leading to a waterfall is a firm favourite.
Dawson Falls is located in Taranaki, a couple of hours away from home and where one of my best friends lives. We intended to explore the area fully in search of a swim spot for the horses – expect to see that in a future post – but she has fresh kittens and so we spent the better part of the day playing with those instead! It was late afternoon by the time we laced up our running shoes, and so a risky power walk over mossy boulders and through dense greenery to these falls was all we had time for on this occasion.
The walk itself is relatively easy, we finished the loop track in well under an hour! Such a beautiful spot with the freshest, crispest water.. and so easy to get to!
